Next week, on August 26, 27, and 28, Mazara del Vallo will host a three-day co-design event promoted by the T.I.D.E. project – Tradition, Inclusivity, Diversification, and Ecotourism for Sustainable Seas – entirely dedicated to the development of fishing and seafood tourism in Sicily.
Three thematic workshops, hosted at the Civic Center and scheduled for 5:00 PM, will provide opportunities for collective brainstorming and dialogue among all actors in the coastal sector: fishermen, aspiring operators, producers, restaurateurs, students, artisans, associations, and local organizations. The goal is to shape experiential tourism packages that tell the story of the sea in an authentic, inclusive, and sustainable way.
Thematic Workshops for the Development of Fishing and Seafood Tourism: The Program
August 26 – Storytelling Biodiversity
Sustainable fishing, marine environments, and ecological narratives for immersive and educational experiences.
August 27 – Culinary Traditions to Savor and Pass On
Seafood recipes, local products, and traditional cuisine to highlight the connection between the sea and gastronomic culture.
August 28 – Innovation and Tourism of the Future
Digital tools, platforms, and new professions to innovate while preserving identity.
Each workshop will be a creative lab, led by expert facilitators, where businesses and communities can share ideas, needs, and visions to collaboratively build a regenerative coastal tourism model integrated with the region’s local excellence.
